From September 2019, schools in England must follow updated statutory guidance on Keeping children safe in education (Department for Education, 2019).
The updated guidance is currently in draft and includes information on:
- changes to local safeguarding children’s boards (LSCB’S) arrangements
- changes to Ofsted framework
- the new RSE curriculum
- school’s responsibilities in recognising and responding to concerns around pupils at risk of engaging in serious crime
- information regarding ‘upskirting’.

The 2019 draft guidance will come into force for schools in September 2019.
