What will I learn?

Each of the five core sections takes about 20-40 minutes to complete, including a set of questions. The course includes dramatised scenarios, short films with professionals and the opportunity to reflect. You’ll be given a full explanation of the correct and incorrect answers to help you develop your understanding and confidence.

By the end of the course you’ll be able to:

recognise what is meant by child abuse or abuse of adults at risk
identify the legislation and guidance is now four nation compliant that provides the framework for safeguarding young people or young adults in need of care and support
describe the types, signs and indicators of abuse as they apply to children up to 18 years, or young adults between 18 and 25 years
understand how to respond to concerns about the welfare and wellbeing of young people and know who to report to
follow the principles of good recording practice.
