Created by experts in safeguarding, this elearning course, produced in association with the Ann Craft Trust, will help give you a clear understanding of your role and responsibilities in protecting the young people you meet and work with.

What will I learn?

Each of the five core sections takes about 20-40 minutes to complete, including a set of questions. The course includes dramatised scenarios, short films with professionals and the opportunity to reflect. You’ll be given a full explanation of the correct and incorrect answers to help you develop your understanding and confidence.

By the end of the course you’ll be able to:

  • recognise what is meant by child abuse or abuse of adults at risk
  • identify the legislation and guidance is now four nation compliant that provides the framework for safeguarding young people or young adults in need of care and support
  • describe the types, signs and indicators of abuse as they apply to children up to 18 years, or young adults between 18 and 25 years
  • understand how to respond to concerns about the welfare and wellbeing of young people and know who to report to
  • follow the principles of good recording practice.
