Have you recently been appointed designated safeguarding lead (DSL) or are you looking to do some training?

This course will help you understand your role and responsibilities and develop your confidence in protecting children and young people.

You’ll learn about:

  • barriers that might prevent children or staff from reporting abuse or concerns
  • escalating concerns, referrals and the multi-agency protection process
  • how to respond to a child who has reported abuse.

Designated safeguarding lead training (advanced)

Are you already in a DSL role, and looking to build your skills and knowledge on dealing with complex safeguarding and child protection concerns?

This advanced course will help you understand:

  • the role your school or college has in providing early help and statutory intervention
  • how values play a part in our understanding of safeguarding issues
  • different forms of child sexual abuse and its impact on children.
