We offer courses for designated safeguarding leads in schools and colleges in England to help you to carry out your statutory duties and protect the children and young people you work with.

Choose one of our DSL courses

New-to-role

If you are new to the role of DSL this is the course for you. It will help you understand your responsibilities and develop your confidence in embedding safeguarding and child protection practices into your school or college.

Refresher

For DSLs who have previously attended a training, this course will refresh your learning and catch you up with the latest statutory guidance and best practice. We would recommended DSL’s refresh their training at least every two years.

Find out more detail about what each course covers in the accordions below.

If you're based in Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales or don't work in the education sector, see our full range of nominated lead training courses.

If you are unsure about which course to book, email learning@nspcc.org.uk for advice.
