Improve your understanding and confidence in recognising and responding to concerns about a child with our interactive elearning course from the safeguarding experts.

As you work through the course, innovative branching case scenarios allow you to choose the context that best suits your needs – primary or secondary and college settings – or you can choose to take them all.

There are five modules each taking around 30-45 minutes to complete. You can stop and start as you need and questions at the end of each module are followed with full explanations of the correct and incorrect answers to help develop your knowledge and skills.

What will I learn?

After completing the course you will be able to:

understand what safeguarding and child protection means in primary, secondary and college settings
identify the relevant legislation and guidance for safeguarding in education
recognise the different types, signs and indicators of abuse and neglect
understand how to respond to concerns and provide a response that’s best for the child or the children involved
understand the correct procedures for reporting concerns and know who to report to
recognise the importance of recording your concerns and the principles of good recording.

This course is for anyone working or volunteering in schools, academies or colleges in the UK including: teachers, teaching assistants and support staff who come into contact with children and young people.
