Online course to help professionals respond to incidents of nude image sharing or sexting

Do you know how to respond effectively to incidents of nude image sharing?

There are many reasons why young people may share nude or semi-nude images, videos or livestreams online. This course explores these motivations as well as issues around consent, gender, additional needs and age variations. It looks at the risks involved and what steps you need to take to respond appropriately. It also covers how to recognise when sharing imagery is harmful sexual behaviour and how you can safeguard the young people involved.

What will I learn?

This course contains five modules. You will learn through a combination of teaching pages, films, scenario-based tasks, reflection activities and assessment questions.

By the end of the course, you will understand:

  • why young people might share nude or semi-nude imagery online, and the risks involved
  • how to manage, prevent and respond to incidents
  • how to appropriately support young people and their parents and carers
  • what the law says about sharing images and when you should involve the police
  • how to report incidents of nude image sharing.
