Online training for anyone working with young people or young adults at risk in England or Wales

Do you work with young people or young adults at risk and want to better understand your role in safeguarding them from abuse, neglect or harm?

Created by experts in safeguarding, this elearning course, produced in association with the Ann Craft Trust, will help give you a clear understanding of your role and responsibilities in protecting the young people you meet and work with.

What will I learn?

Each section takes about 20-40 minutes to complete, followed by a set of questions. You’ll be given a full explanation of the correct and incorrect answers to help you develop your understanding and confidence.

By the end of the course you’ll be able to:

  • identify what is meant by child abuse or abuse of adults at risk
  • identify the legislation and guidance in England and Wales that provides the framework for safeguarding young people or young adults in need of care and support
  • describe the types, signs and indicators of abuse as they apply to children up to 18 years, or young adults at risk between 18 and 25 years
  • understand how to respond to concerns about the welfare of young people and the wellbeing of young adults at risk and know who to report to
  • understand the principles of good recording practice.
